OUR LOCATION

SAN MARCO DI CASTELLABATE

Le Casette di Ulisse is located in Cilento just a stone’s throw away from the port of San Marco di Castellabate, between Punta Licosa and the historic village of Castellabate, in an enchanting gulf that holds a European Blue Flag award. Its quiet, privileged location makes it perfect for a relaxing holiday in the midst of nature.

Just a few metres away from the facility is a Thalasso Spa, where you can pamper yourself before returning to your peaceful sea view room. The spa is even open during the low season.

San Marco is also only a 20-minute drive away from the Greek temples at Paestum and the beautiful Certosa di Padula monastery.

THE SEA

In an enchanting European Blue Flag Gulf, between Punta Licosa and Punta Tresino

The Municipality of Castellabate is one of the most important seaside resorts on the Cilento Coast. It’s situated in an enchanting European Blue Flag Gulf, between Punta Licosa and Punta Tresino, in the Marine Park and Marine Protected Area of Santa Maria di Castellabate – just a short distance from the Bay of Ogliastro Marina and the island of Licosa.

Here you can do underwater activities, diving and go on guided underwater tours. The long public golden beaches – interspersed with beach resorts – alternate with cliff points that create breathtaking landscapes and dozens of picturesque coves, which you can explore on foot or by private boat.

It is possible to book at the partner equipped beach.

Pozzillo Beach

Between San Marco and Santa Maria di Castellabate you will find Pozzillo beach. It’s in the shape of a half moon, has crystal-clear blue and green waters and offers an amazing view of the town. The waters are very shallow, so it’s also suitable for children.

Crocodile Beach

In San Marco di Castellabate there is a cliff in the shape of a Crocodile, where the sea is a deep blue and there’s hardly any sand – so there are no beach resorts. The waters aren’t shallow, and the beach can be reached by taking some easy steps.

Punta Licosa

Punta Licosa is made up of a series of rocky coves, situated in the Marine Protected Area of Santa Maria di Castellabate. You can access the area on small boats.
Close by are the beaches of Acciaroli and Ascea Marina, which are also among the most beautiful in Cliento.

THE NATIONAL PARK

UNESCO World Heritage Site

The Cilento National Park is one of the biggest in Italy, and since 1997 it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2010 it also became the first Biopark National Park. The area is diverse and rich in history and culture, as well as in fauna and flora – counting three thousand botanical species.

The territory extends from the Piana del Sele in the north, to the A3 motorway in the east, to the Gulf of Policastro in the south and to the Tyrrhenian coast in the west. The park includes 80 Municipalities and 2 Marine Protected Areas, so one day really isn’t enough to visit it all!

Authorised associations and park authorities organise boat trips, diving, guided tours and excursions.
Trekking enthusiasts can to book walks that are suitable for everyone from the most experienced to the whole family – both along the Cilento coast by the sea and in the mountainous area where you can find rivers, streams, waterfalls and mills.
