Legend has it that the siren Leucosia, sister of Ligea and Parthenope, turned into a rock after unrequited love drove her to throw herself off a cliff. That’s how Punta Licosa got its name – a place beloved by trekkers, which is only reachable on foot, located amidst the cool of the pine forests, picturesque coves and the sound of the waves. As Homer tells us, it is in this very sea that Ulysses tied himself to the mast of his ship so as not miss even a second of the bewitching song that the three mermaid daughters of the Muse Calliope sang.
